Behind a Wall of Stereotypes

Today started really well, I mean nothing bad had happened so far, until I had to cope with another stereotypical, ignorant and hasty comment about drug dealers in Colombia. The movie was actually good, I will not lie, but that pissing reference of Colombia to Drug mules, as always, didn´t miss, ruining it all over again. I hate these types of comments and I may say they really get to me. I mean, it is the country where I was born and I can tell all of you, there is a lot of incredible things, sites beyond compare and a great variety of rich cultures behind what many imagine to be a terrible country to live in. I am done hearing bad things about my country everywhere I go and in mostly every movie I see. For your information, Colombia is a wonderful place and people dealing with drugs are a minority. It is a place that can awaken passion and love if you learn about it and open your eyes to the beauty and joy that it shows and gives.

Everything is not pink, but if you get to know about the positive side of Colombia, it overpowers the problems. We are classified to be of the 10 happiest countries in the world and the energy people here have and offer can´t be found any were else. I sometimes wish people out there would know the true side of Colombia, or even know it exists. It is about time to break that wall that has been established around colombia and hides all the wonder inside it.
