Get It Right!

I am happy to inform that I found some more evidence about why Colombia is a superb country. Yeah, you read correctly; Colombia is Superb. In my concern about how others think about the country I love, I happened to find out many things about it, that I had never heard before. Yay me!

Now I am sure that when I write that my country has a positive side, I am not just talking any self consolation bull, it is actually true. And guess what? I am more than glad to communicate these new fun facts with my imaginary readers and prove out to them that Colombia rules.

Colombia represents a very important role in the world and is extremely rich. If you don`t believe it, here are some random facts that demonstrate it:
• Bogota has the longest bicycle rout in the world.
• Orlando Duque from Cali is the best diver in the world.
• We are the ranked as the second country exporting flowers as well as in blackberries.
• The tallest mountain in the world close to the sea in the world in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, close to the Caribbean Sea.
• Colombia is the country in America with the largest quantity of volcanoes, five.
• It is also the third country in the world with the mayor hydric resources in the world.
• The biggest march for peace happened here with and average of eleven million people.
• 3452 different species of orquidea flowers have been identified in Colombia.
• The island with the highest population, El Islote, near the Golfo de Morrosquillo ( I have had the pleasure to visit it and it is admirable how everybody knows everyone else and help each other with daily economic problems).
• Colombia is classified to be the second happiest country in the world after Vanuatan of Oceania.
• The Atrato River in Choco, is the fourth more caudalos river of the world.
• Colombia has the largest amount of amphibious in the world with 583 species occupying the second place in the world as in primates.
• Colombia has the largest number of species per area unit in the world and has a 10% of the world’s fauna and flora (not having more than 1% of the world’s area).
• It also has 1800 species of birds (more than the number of bird species of North America and Europe together).
• It has the third place in amount of reptiles in the world.
• Colombia rules!!!
You see. This is a great country, and knows that I stopped because I am tired of writing; there are many, many more positive things about it to discover.

Ps. See!!! In your FACE!!!

Aknowledging Colombia for Something Other Than Drugs

So, this thing of Colombia has been wondering on my head lately and I have finally decided I will dedicate some other posts to it. I well know that writing about it here won´t make much of a difference, it is more than clear that the list of people who read my blog is limited to one. Nevertheless, I will do it anyways just for the fun of it and for the very scarce chance of someone ending up in my blog after clicking on the next blog link several times. So, here I am, writing to the yet non existing public and once again striving for a cause that I very well know, doesn´t have any chance.

Let’s get to the point. There is so much to say about Colombia that truly describes what it really is! There are many extraordinary sites that are recognized as patrimony of the world including:

1. The fort and city of Cartagena, located in Bolivar in the Caribbean region where anecdotes of pirates, conquistadors, and stories of the past live and travel the streets of the touristic capital.

2. Katíos national park, denominated as a very important biological view since 1994.

3. Tierra Adentro Archeological National park, a reminder of the daily life, the rituals and funeral customs of a magic, pre-Columbian culture of our past.

4. San Agustin Archeological National park, a valuable evidence of the magical believes religions, and ways of life of another artistic and unique culture of the times before colonialism in Colombia.

5. Historical center of Santa Cruz de Mompós, a perfect testimony of Spanish colonial architecture.

6. The Carnaval de Barranquilla is a nonmaterial patrimony and a perfect example of the rich culture and spirit of Colombians.

7. The Corregimiento de San Basilio de Palenque, another nonmaterial patrimony of humanity established as so in 2005.

8. The sanctuary of flora and fauna of Malpelo became a patrimony due to it incredible biodiversity in 2006.

Other than all this world patrimonies, Colombia has a extraordinary amount of beautiful sites like the seven colored beach in San Andres, and the five colored Caño Cristales that attract millions of tourist per year. With two oceans and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta really close to it, a great variety of climate zones are given. We have all type of dances and foods that vary according to the region and a great variety of cultures and accents spread out in the thirty two “departamentos”.

Ps. This is only the beginning.

Behind a Wall of Stereotypes

Today started really well, I mean nothing bad had happened so far, until I had to cope with another stereotypical, ignorant and hasty comment about drug dealers in Colombia. The movie was actually good, I will not lie, but that pissing reference of Colombia to Drug mules, as always, didn´t miss, ruining it all over again. I hate these types of comments and I may say they really get to me. I mean, it is the country where I was born and I can tell all of you, there is a lot of incredible things, sites beyond compare and a great variety of rich cultures behind what many imagine to be a terrible country to live in. I am done hearing bad things about my country everywhere I go and in mostly every movie I see. For your information, Colombia is a wonderful place and people dealing with drugs are a minority. It is a place that can awaken passion and love if you learn about it and open your eyes to the beauty and joy that it shows and gives.

Everything is not pink, but if you get to know about the positive side of Colombia, it overpowers the problems. We are classified to be of the 10 happiest countries in the world and the energy people here have and offer can´t be found any were else. I sometimes wish people out there would know the true side of Colombia, or even know it exists. It is about time to break that wall that has been established around colombia and hides all the wonder inside it.

Lame as Computers Class

Welcome to, I can`t think of anything to write about again. LAME. That didn`t even deserve an exclamation mark. It was not meant to sound like: LAME!!!!! It was meant to sound like LAME, remember, as you read it make a face like the one you would have if you where in computers class.
Computers is certainly my favorite class. Not only do I have a four, I live the greatest minutes of the day hearing what the hysterical, I mean welcoming, teacher has to say about fun programs like Excel. Ok, at least he tries, especially when his ring tone changed from being a cheap immitation of Bad Romance from Lady Gaga to a very modern version of Elvis Presley’s music. He is quite. What can I say. He is somewhat. He is somewhat Extravagant, unique, yes unique.
(Insert a good innovative conclusion here.)
